An accomplished international business development director with
more than 30 years in the energy sector, Steve has managed core
business and major projects across the breadth of the industry.
Among his achievements are leading roles with some of the world’s
biggest energy entities, including operations development manager
for PowerGen’s European generation asset management and
operation engineer for PowerGen International’s O&M
asset management.
Steve was Saale Services managing director and consultant to
European mining giant MIBRAG, helping develop the company’s
lignite mine in East Germany into one of the world’s safest
open cast facilities.
With Saale Energie GmbH, Steve oversaw cost savings of more
than 15 million pounds at PowerGen’s 900MW lignite station
at Schkopau, Germany and successfully negotiated the final tri-party
2.5 billion pound asset settlement of the facility’s build
project.
He managed numerous national and international projects for
PowerGen UK as well as undertaking due diligence risk assessments
which led to the acquisition of seven major international asset
acquisitions. Steve has also managed the due diligence for projects
on the sub-continent.
He developed cost and benefit models for the operations and
maintenance of Taiwan-based power projects, was responsible for
assessment of the generation asset base in the Philippines for
First Gas Power, and is a specialist in cost analysis and projections
for operating power plant outages over 25 to 30 year timeframes.
As well, Steve developed the UK and international business strategy
for the International Energy Graining Company, and has also tailored
training programs for more than 200 leading energy producers worldwide.
A sought-after expert speaker in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and
Thailand, Steve hold formal qualifications in engineering and
an MBA.
