NEIL ROBERTS - Director

  • Neil brings two decades of expertise in developing large, medium and small-scale powerstations in Europe, Asia and Australasia.

  • Since co-founding ARC Developments Ltd in 2003, his company’s specialist services have been sought in developing a suite of energy-related schemes. Neil’s recent successes include sharing leadership responsibility for the Transfield development team’s winning bid for a 660MW coal-fired powerstation in Chile. Earlier, he spearheaded ARC’s activities around a bid to Perth’s Western Power for a new 350MW peaking plant, a Malaysian independent power provider’s bid for Intergen’s Queensland assets and the development of the Esperance power station. He also led the ARC team which developed Greenfield opportunities for the Queensland Government-owned Tarong Energy, including a gas-fired peaking plant and coal-fired base load opportunities.

  • Neil was a director of Private Energy Partners from 1998 until 2003 and a founder of and board member of Novera Energy. He was also part of the team which structured the framework for the Queensland Government’s 50 percent sale of the 450MW Tarong North power station to a Mitsui/TEPCO consortium.

  • Until 1998, Neil served as vice-president of Hong Kong’s Power Pacific Company, one of the era’s most successful development players in the Chinese energy sector, and a director of the Jinxing Cogeneration Scheme.

  • He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from UK’s Bath University, and has worked across the breadth of the energy sector since starting out as a project engineer and developer.
